I was inspired to pursue a career in mental health by my high school psychology teacher. Following my high school graduation, I completed my bachelor's degree in psychology from Southern Oregon University. In 2013 I enrolled at the University of Southern California to pursue my Master of Social Work. While in graduate school I completed two internships, working at a group home with adolescent girls and then dual-diagnosis clients at a chemical dependency treatment center. Post-graduation, I moved to Portland and started working for a non-profit providing outpatient therapy to adults. In the last four years, I have worked with clients with a wide range of diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, OCD and trauma. My years of practice, have only reinforced my faith in humanity and the belief that each individual person holds within them the ability to grow, change and reach new heights.
Over the last two years, I have completed my training through the EMDR Institute in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I have trained in DBT, from the Portland DBT Institute. I have training in mindfulness, MI and ACT.
